Energy materials have been and continue to revolutionize our world due to their wide range of properties and outstanding versatility. The development of renewable, low-cost energy technologies is a key scientific challenge for the 21st century. Electro-Optical Materials and Semiconductor Devices Lab is focused on designing, synthesizing, and understanding materials with an emphasis on the phosphor, solar cells, and Li- ion battery materials for practical appliances. Specific interests include the synthesis and characterization of different kinds of luminescent materials, materials for electrochemical storage devices with defined shape and sizes and the development of high-performance CIGS and Perovskite solar conversion architectures using scalable and inexpensive fabrication processes.
